Meet Joey Pendleton

Joey Pendleton is a Senator in the Kentucky State Senate. Mr. Pendleton is a Democrat, and has represented the 3rd district of Kentucky since 1992. Included in his district are the counties of Christian, Logan and Todd. He has been the chairman of the Tobacco Task Force of the state legislature, and is well known as a supporter of tobacco growers in his state, and their financial concerns. Joey Pendleton has done much to help families preserve their farms in Kentucky and to encourage and promote agricultural diversity.
Also keeping Senator Pendleton busy is the Health and Welfare Committee. He was the recipient of the “Better Life Government Award” in 1998 from the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities. He received this recognition for his role as a supporter of legislation that allowed long-term care insurance to be deductible from income tax. Mr. Pendleton was also recognized by the “Brain Injury Association” of Kentucky with the “S.T.A.R.” award in 1998 in gratitude for his establishment of the Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund.
Most recently Joey Pendleton has served as the Project Manager at the Murray State University School of Agriculture. Back in 1977 he was named as the “Outstanding Young Dairyman of the Southeastern United States, and also received the 4-H Alumni Award in 1989.
